I love buffalo plaid as much as the next girl. But the cartoony animal pictures, faux bear rugs and dark colors that currently flood Pinterest when you search “woodland nursery” just didn’t create the picture of a sweet and peaceful baby’s room I envisioned for my own son. I wanted something different and something budget friendly.
This winter has already been the craziest, snowiest and coldest winter I can remember in a very long time! Of course the timing couldn't be more excellent as I'm now about 6.5 months pregnant and already a *teeny bit* accident prone (a.k.a. giant klutz!) Needless to say, Mr. G+R prefers I stay inside where I'm [only slightly] less accident prone in this winter weather. Maybe even more needless to say, I don't mind staying inside. This means staying warm, drinking hot chocolate, watching Christmas movies (been on since October this year- thanks, Hallmark!) and finishing up some DIY home projects before we start on our nursery in January!
My winter clothes are still sitting in 2 laundry baskets, folded and ready to be switched with my summer clothes in the Rubbermaids. And my summer clothes are still in a mystery Rubbermaid. And I made a little visit to Target for a few summer staples that I've been cycling through for the last several weeks. Anyway. When we started telling our families about the baby - they all had amazing, excited reactions quickly followed by "So are you going to raise this baby in the basement?" Ha. Ha. Ha. NO!
My goal for G+R is to be more than just a place to buy things. I want this to be a place that I can share my ideas & knowledge with you; a place where I can answer your questions and offer you guidance so that you can create, love, & revive too! I truly believe your home should reflect who you are. I hope that Glitter+Rust Co. can help you accomplish just that by offering beautiful items for purchase, but also through this blog!
